Serving In Worship

Our worship services rely on our lay volunteers.  Many of our parishioners find fulfillment in assisting with the weekly services, and also with other services and functions as needed.  If you have an interest in serving in any capacity, you will be welcomed!  Just contact the Parish Office or speak with our clergy.

If you're already a volunteer, you can check your schedule here.

A verger is a lay person who assists the clergy in the conduct of public worship, especially in the marshaling of the process.  The verger serves the church in the ministry of welcome.

Acolytes assist the clergy in preparing the table, lighting candles, carrying the Gospel book, and other duties.  We have both adult and youth acolytes.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers assist by bearing the chalice and distributing the wine during the Holy Communion.

Lectors read the Old and New Testament lessons, and they also lead the congregation in the Prayers of the People.

Ushers are often the first face someone sees when coming to a service.  They distribute bulletins, collect offerings, and generally make everyone feel welcome.

Greeters welcome visitors at the Prince Avenue doors every Sunday morning before the 10:30 am service.

The Altar Guild's ministry is to care for the altar, vessels, and altar linens.    The members prepare the sanctuary for services and clean up afterwards.
