Pastoral Care

Supporting our Family

Pastoral Care ministries at Emmanuel reach in to support parishioners and others in times of need.  Led by lay persons who work with a Vestry liaison, each Pastoral Care unit reaches out to our congregation through social and other media.  Our Rector, other clergy and other members of our community refer persons as needed.

Please call the Parish Office if you would like support from one of our teams, or if you're interested in becoming one of our pastoral care givers.

Agape Meals

provides meals to parishioners experiencing life challenges such as illness, death or surgery, or those celebrating a new baby.  This ministry works through a wide network of parishioners.

Care Giver Support and Health Ministry

reaches out to parishioners who are coping with health, mental health or loneliness, and to those who are serving as a primary care partner.

Lay Eucharistic Visitors

take communion to those who are not able to attend services.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

knits/crochets and prays for those needing the comfort of a shawl while ill,

grieving or in despair.  This ministry also provides small "baby squares" for newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit and mini prayer shawls to be

kept in a pocket as a reminder of God's presence.

Stephen Ministry

serves those in need by providing a listening ear, prayer, support and encouragement to those in and outside our Parish.  Stephen Ministers are trained and given continuing education so that they can provide high quality care.

Intercessory Prayers Ministry

prays for those on a Parish prayer list and assures confidentiality to beneficiaries.
