Fellowship Groups

Paul wrote to the Thessalonians, "Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up."  At Emmanuel, we follow that advice, believing that gathering with our friends in Christian fellowship and service can provide untold benefits, for us personally and for our community. We laugh, pray, share our joys and sorrows, and serve others.

We have a variety of small groups that meet regularly.  Try them out.

Have fun, and find the ones that make you comfortable and fulfilled.

Foyer Groups

One of the best ways to get to know fellow parishioners is through small dinner groups.   Our Foyer Groups are a great mix of singles, married couples, and various ages.  They are typically adult groups, but when there is enough interest, we also form groups of families whose meetings include the kids. Each session, we solicit interest from the parish, and our coordinators then randomly assign the groups, but with an eye towards making sure they include a good mix of newcomers and old timers.  The groups then meet once a month over the course of a few months, most often at members' homes.  The dates, places and formats of the meals are up to the group, but they typically involve each person taking a turn as host and providing a main dish, with everyone else contributing  sides, drinks, etc. The Fall 2023 season was wildly popular, and we're accepting registrations now for Spring 2024, scheduled to start in February.  Click here for a registration form.

The Brotherhood of St. Andrew

Third Sunday | 4:00p.m. - 6:00p.m.

First Saturday | 8:30a.m. Breakfast TBA

The Brotherhood of St. Andrew seeks a wide range of activities, both internally, and within and beyond the parish, to bring men and youth to Christ.  Our vision is to inspire, share, and equip men and youth to fulfill the Great Commission.  The Brotherhood seeks to accomplish our mission through the threefold disciplines of Prayer, Study, and Service.

Emmanuel's chapter of the Brotherhood meets in the Church Library on the third Sunday of every month, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.   We also get together at a local restaurant for a social breakfast and fellowship at 8:30 am on the first Saturday of every month.  All men of the Parish are always invited to attend.  For questions contact Jay Shinn, Director; Ralph NeSmith, Vice Director; or Andy Simmonds, Secretary/Treasurer.

Natural Spirituality Program

Sundays | Noon - 2:00p.m.

Tuesdays |10:00a.m. - Noon

Emmanuel's Natural Spirituality program began in 1991 and provides a context for exploring inner work by working with dreams and synchronicity.  While this is relatively new for our time, it is not new for Christianity.  People of the old and new testaments were led and enriched by their dreams, as we are today.  The program is based on Jungian concepts of the unconscious in a Christian framework and explores the images and metaphors that come to us in our dreams.

Emmanuel currently offers two opportunities for you to join a Journey Group: one on Sundays from noon to 2:00 pm (light lunch is served), and one on Tuesdays from 10:00 am to noon.  Our groups are open to all those interested.  You may attend in person or via Zoom.

Journey Group members help each other gain insight into their individual lives by unfolding the symbolic language of their dreams.  The Journey Groups provide a rich experience of Christian community as their members undergo gradual transformation and healing and grow into an ever-deepening relationship with God.
