Approved Minutes of the Called Meeting of 2005 and 2006 Vestry

December 11, 2005

Members of the retiring Vestry, current Vestry, and newly elected members met at 12:40 pm after the service on December 11. Attending were: Mo. Mandy Brady, Lee Albright, John Ballard, Robin Bewley, Butch Bush, Katherine Byrne, Allison Clements, Amrey Harden, Wren Howard, Robin Krause, Penny McLanahan, Jay Shinn, Brian Tison, and David Woodruff.

Mother Mandy opened the meeting with a prayer. Vestry Handbooks were given to all members of the 2006 Vestry. Mandy noted that there may be some revisions in the Diocesan section as this material is now being reviewed.

All 2006 Vestry members were asked to attend a session with the Finance Committee in January before the Vestry Retreat to become familiar with the process and practices. Bob Wood will let us know the options for the session.

The Vestry Retreat will be January 20-22, 2006, at Camp Mikell.

The floor was opened for comments and announcements:

Mandy reported that the announcement of the appointment of the Senior Warden will be forthcoming.

Penny McLanahan offered a prayer for careful consideration of a request to serve as Senior Warden for the person who is asked to serve.

Mandy announced that she hopes to co-lead the Vestry Retreat with Malvin Underwood. Final confirmation should be coming soon.

Lee Albright commented that the Parish Meeting was successful.

Robin Bewley noted that those who attended the breakfast had taken care with the dishes brought and that this indicates an appreciation and a need for the fellowship provided by the covered dish breakfast.

A Vestry Social with retiring and current members is being planned for January by Lee Gaby and Mother Mandy.

Jay Shinn welcomed the newly elected and thanked all 2005 Vestry for their service, noting that serving on the Vestry is both an honor and a ministry.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:50 pm.

Respectfully submitted,

Lee Albright
