Programs for Youth

The Journey to Adulthood program has the three segments listed below.

Rite 13,

6th and 7th Graders. “Rite-13ers” enjoy games, discussions, and trust-building that will form the basis of the rest of the Journey to Adulthood program.

Journey to Adulthood (J2A)

8th and 9th graders. This segment builds on Rite-13 by helping the youth master six essential skills of adulthood: listening, assertion, negotiation, research and information management, partnership, and leadership. At the end of this two-year segment, the group will go on a pilgrimage to visit mission churches in the Santa Barbara, CA area. They are currently planning, and helping fund this pilgrimage.

Young Adults in Church (YAC)

10th and 11th Graders. During this segment, these young people practice the adult skills they’ve learned within the context of the supportive church community.
