Almighty God, the fountain of all wisdom: Enlighten by your Holy Spirit those who teach and those who learn that, rejoicing in the knowledge of your truth, they may worship you and serve you from generation to generation; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. BCP, Collect for Various Occasions #23
Please mark your calendars with these important dates for upcoming youth formation events
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd: Parents of kids through 5th grade are invited to join their child in her/his respective atrium on this first Sunday. This year, we have added a fourth atrium, for additional capacity; and a Level 3 program to serve 4th & 5th graders. With these expansions of our Catechesis offerings we have a deep need for parents to help as shepherds this year; at registration, there will be a sign-up sheet for parents, as well.

6th Grade & Journey To Adulthood (7th-12th) Formation: All classes meet in The Catacombs, our youth space in the thrift store plaza next door (storefront entrance to the left of Emmanuel Thrift Store). Kids are encouraged to arrive by 9:25 am for breakfast snacks and gathering time.

Whether we say Christian Education, Christian Formation, Spiritual Formation, or Faith Formation, we are speaking of the way we help our children and one another grow into our baptismal covenant. How do we learn to live out our faith on a daily basis? In the Episcopal Church we explore the cornerstones of our faith: Scripture, tradition, and reason. All age groups are involved.
There are many opportunities at Emmanuel, and the decision to post the programs under the heading of Formation, Worship or Youth is often not clear. What has been done on this web site is to group the programs based on when the activity takes place.
Please note that calendars for children, youth, and adult activities are posted on this site under the "Schedules" tab in the main menu at the top of this page, or just use this link: Schedules.
On the Worship page, activities taking place during the 10:30 service are described. These include the Nursery and Catechesis of the Good Sheperd (Ages 3 through grade 5).
On the Youth page, the activities of Emmanuel's Youth Group are described. The Youth Group is called the EYC, which is short for Episcopal Youth Community.
On this, the Formation page, activities during the Christian Education period (9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.) are presented. Some of the adult activities take place other times of the day and week.
You can use the menu at the left to select the group that interests you. Here is what you will find when you make a choice.
Children (Birth through grade 5): Nursery and Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Youth (Grades 6-12): Rite 13, Journey to Adulthood, Young Adults in Church
Adults: Sunday Forum, Natural Spirituality, Monday Morning Bible Study Group
