Natural Spirituality Seminar: Christian Inner Work in Everyday Life
The Natural Spirituality Introductory Class will be offered this fall on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to Nov. 18 at Emmanuel Church in the little while house at 540 Prince Ave. If you or someone you know wants to learn more about Natural Spirituality, come join us! The course will be structured around the books Natural Spirituality, Recovering the Wisdom Tradition in Christianity, by Joyce R. Hudson and Dreams, God's Forgotten Language, by John Sanford.
Natural Spirituality is a means of awakening to the teaching and guidance of the Holy Spirit in our everyday lives. It helps us cultivate a growing awareness that our lives, waking and sleeping, are filled with the metaphorical language of the Holy Spirit. Learning to understand that language takes effort, but it is an effort that Jesus himself urged us to make.
The discussion leaders will be Lane Norton, Agnes Parker, and Heidi Simmonds. For more information you may contact Heidi Simmonds: 706-353-3422 ( ) or Agnes Parker: 706-742-2530 ( ). More.

Men of Emmanuel Bible Study
We will continue our Bible study by beginning a reading of Proverbs, the book of morals, wisdom, and virtue. This Book is very profound and very direct, and there will almost certainly be much stepping on of toes by its insights. Proverbs 1:7 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” That’s a good idea to start our studies with.
