PARENTS OF 3RD GRADERS
You and your child are invited for a special introduction to the 3rd Grade Bible Study. Please join us in the Level II Atrium at 9:30. We will then venture over to our 540 Prince Avenue Building to meet with Father Robert. Don't miss this unique opportunity to learn beside your child!
NETSFORLIFE CAMPAIGN®- The Diocese of Atlanta’s campaign for Episcopal Relief and Development and the NetsforLife® / Inspiration Fund has begun! By the next Council meeting in November 2012, we hope to donate 35,000 insecticide-treated nets to prevent malaria in sub-Saharan Africa. Emmanuel’s goal for these life saving nets is 250. If you would like to make your “alternative” Christmas gift(s) a $12 net, either put your $12 (or check) in an envelope in the Tower mailbox (where there are also gift cards for a net), or order through the Gifts for Life catalog, on the table in the hall near the office—and sign the paper so that your gift can be counted!
NATURAL SPIRITUALITY GROUP hosts a conference on dream work at Camp Mikell in Toccoa, GA. Come for the day or all weekend and hear talks, attend workshops and enjoy good company. The dates are February 10-12. See Heidi Simmonds or Agnes Parker for questions or call 706-353-3422. Registration forms are in the church and on Emmanuel’s website. Come and experience.
AUTOMATIC BANK DRAFTS - Several parishioners have shown interest in having their giving automatically deducted from their account. This way whether they are in town or out of town their giving stays on track and no one has to remember to write a check. The Church is now set up to provide this service to the parishioners. It’s easy, just fill out and sign one form, attach a voided check from the account you wish to be debited and turn into the office or put in Karen Holland’s mailbox. The forms are located on the table in the hall outside of Melissa’s office. If you have any questions, please contact Karen Holland by phone 706-543-1294 ext. 205 or email at finance@emmanuelathens.org.
FAITH FORMATION, SUNDAY, February 5:
This Wednesday, February 8, a UGACHORAL CONCERT will be held at 8:00 p.m. in Hodgson Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

HEALTH MINISTRY NOTICE: Emmanuel has two AED (automatic external defibrillators) units on campus and we will be offering a 30 minute orientation session on their use to any interested parties. Although there are voice commands to guide its use step by step this orientation session should provide a comfort level for any user in the event of a cardiac emergency. AED’s are designed for people with non-medical backgrounds. Our own parishioner Katie Terrell, who is a qualified instructor, will lead the orientation right after our “Second Sunday Lunch on February 12th.” We will also be offering certified “Community CPR” classes in the not distant future. Please plan on being with us for these informative and lifesaving offerings.
