Our loving Nursery staff opens their arms for children from six-weeks to three-years-old. The Nursery is available on Sunday mornings from 9am-12noon during the school year, and from 10am-12noon on Sundays during the summer.
Staff members have passed a background check, completed the Safeguarding God's Children Course, and are specially trained for work at Emmanuel.
Parents are welcome to stay with resisting children to help with their transition, or we can work with you to make it as easy as possible on both you and your child. It is our policy to come and let you know if your child is inconsolable, as we want his or her first experiences with church to be positive.
We ask that parents bring a diaper bag with any supplies your child might need, and always remember to sign in your child. We may offer the children a small snack of goldfish or graham crackers and water, and we allow them to play outside on pretty mornings. Please speak to the staff members about any special allowances your child may need.
Club 45 is a special opportunity for Emmanuel's 4th & 5th graders. Once a month, the group gathers for social, educational and mission-based projects. In the past, Club 45ers have been spotted rock climbing, attending plays, movies and sleepovers, collecting Christmas gifts for needy children, and preparing for the Easter Egg Hunt for Emmanuel's younger children.
Club 45 is an excellent transitory time from the elementary years toward the Youth Group. Club 45 even has a few opportunities to meet with Emmanuel's Youth Group during the year!
All Emmanuel 4th and 5th grade students are automatically enrolled in Club 45 once their Faith Formation registration form is received. Parents will receive monthly email updates regarding that month's program. The Club's activities are dependent on parents to coordinate the monthly programs. It can be as simple as a movie. We will plan the year at the Kickoff!
The special events planned with young families in mind help to build bonds between children and create a true family spirit within our parish. The events are also created with our spiritual growth in mind, and they support the foundation that the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program provides.
